Benjamin B. Hsu

The Guild Director of the Twilight Knights Renaissance Guild, Inc. is Benjamin B. Hsu. Mr. Hsu has been an active and reserve member of the United States Marine Corps. He began fencing saber, epee, and rapier while stationed in Denmark. In Okinawa he joined the Society for Creative Anachronism.

Mr. Hsu is a hand-to-hand fighter and instructor certified in USMC martial arts, as well as Security Professionals CPI and AVADE. Since the age of three he has studied Aikido and Kung Fu. He has been a member of the American Jousting Alliance, a former competitor in the United States Fencing Alliance, and a long-term stage fighting director. In addition, Mr. Hsu is a certified weapons master with the Wu Shu Society and International Swordsman Society. 

Mr. Hsu has been teaching freestyle fencing, practical HEMA, stage fighting and 16th century combat techniques for over twelve years. Additional courses include Hsu’s written four part Women’s Self Defense course, which he and the Guild have taught at events and conventions around California for six years.
